  • The first book I finished in 2 years

    I’m a Lyme patient with several coinfections and 4 toxic mold species, and it has been impossible for me to read and comprehend what I’m reading for the last 2 years. I wanted to read this book so much, that I don’t know if I willed my way through it or that positive changes have come to my damaged brain after having these diseases for 16 and 18 (for the mold) years. I remember watching Yolanda on RHOBH and thinking that she didn’t belong with those harpies after only a few episodes. Eventually I stopped watching because there was something in me that couldn’t handle the constant arguing and negativity from the other women. I didn’t know that “something” was Lyme disease. I remember thinking how kind and caring and nurturing Yolanda was, and it showed moreso in this book. Such strength of character and utter kindness for humanity. A woman who brought her three beautiful children, with beautiful souls like her own, up the right way and is still fighting on the sidelines for the rest of us. Her determination to get better and to find a cure for this horrific disease that no one wants to hear about is amazing. She’s a fighter. A Lyme warrior like the rest of us. There was no backing down from treatment after treatment for her, though I wish she had given her mind and body a break between treatments, but that may not have been what was right for her. Thank you for your truth, your kindness, and your unrelenting support of the Lyme community, Yolanda. You are absolutely right! We must find affordable care for all Lyme patients and a cure, and I for one will never stop trying.     Love Yolanda Hadid and was most interested in her story. Read the book rather quickly and enjoyed the pictures she included. Disappointed that we don't hear how Yolanda herself thinks she contacted Lyme or how two of three children did. There is a brief conversation about whether or not Lyme could be transmitted from Mother to child. Even her Mother has it. More of Yolanda's thoughts on that topic would have been intriguing. It's a tad depressing as there doesn't seem to be an end in sight for her pain. A classy lady with a heart of a fighter. Good for you Yolanda for not jumping in the gutter with naysayers and championing on in your journey. A good read.

    Amazing book. My sister was diagnosed with Lyme and it was extremely informative and helpful. God Bless Yo and all the other Lyme sufferers. May you find a cure for this cruel disease. You give hope and inspiration to others. I very much admire your fight, determination and spirit.
