    Rachel and Landon make this book a very erotic romance, without giving anything away. I couldn't put it down.

    The book was well written, and had it's fair share of romance throughout, but nothing really progressed. It was just angsty scene after angsty scene. I know it belongs to a series, but there was no plot development here, and it ends seemingly in the middle of something. Not enough to be a cliff hanger but enough for you to feel as if the scene hasn't ended. There's little to no suspense in the story, and you just read hoping that the characters will develop more or that the conflict will appear. Overall it was a very disappointing start that got extremely repetitive about halfway through.

    That elevator ride changed their lives. They both have issues. He still deals with the death of his mother in the form of nightly nightmares. She's still dealing with the way Jack treated her, like she wasn't good enough. I know Landon was throwing hints out there about wanting more but he should know to be more straightforward and making comments like "...as soon as a woman starts to demand more than I can give, I walk away" certainly didn't help. Also, what was Rachel thinking? Agreeing to meet Jack for drinks while driving in the car with the man she's currently dating exclusively! Friends or not, Jack is an ex in Landon's mind. I think he had every right to freak out a little bit. And was goodbye for the night or for good? I can't wait for the next book to come out to get an answer to my question! This is my first book by Serena Grey and she's definitely got my attention. ** originally reviewed for welovekink(dot)com
