    I’m not much of a reader...mostly because I get bored but this series is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!! I seriously could not stop reading until I finished all 3 books in the series. My heart hurt for both Lake and Manning the entire time...so emotional and heartbreaking at times but a beautiful picture of love at first sight and what a soulmate actually looks and feels like. A MUST READ!!

    This is part two of the series and it gutted me at the end... these characters are life like and you can relate to them. I am not so patiently waiting for book 3!! Manning is a man’s man but I am not giving this review spoilers it’s with the read.

    I read both books in less than 24 hours. I was delirious with the lack of sleep, cried some and it was worth the migraine. Lol No seriously - one of the best books I've read in awhile and now I have to wait till October. Aaahhhhh!!!! Lake and Manning are made for each other.

    First of all, let me start by saying that I won't go into too much of the plot of this book. I feel like that in order to get the full experience of this book it's important to go in without any prior knowledge of what will take place. But it's very important to read book one before venturing into the second book. All I can say is to buckle up because it's going to be a very bumpy ride!! Where should I even begin with this book? Honestly I had a real tough time trying to write a review for this book. I really had to take some time to regroup and really think about how I felt about this book. I didn't think it would be this hard for me to write a review but there's no other story that has affected me as much as this one. Since reading book one, I thought I was ready for the second book but nothing could prepare for the emotional roller coaster that would soon ensue. To be honest when I had received the ARC for this book, I didn't immediately read it until a few days later. I was so excited and yet terrified to start this book! I felt knots in stomach just thinking about the direction this story would go and the anticipation of what would happen next especially after the cliffhanger in the first book. After reading this book, I have been feeling so many emotions that I just can't get this story out of my mind. Even though this book made me feel heartbroken and torn, I couldn't help in being hooked from beginning to end. Despite my frustrations with this story, I must give credit to this author for creating such a highly addictive read. Yet again Jessica Hawkins has blown me away with her impeccable writing and riveting storyline. Her writing is so compelling that you can't help in being entranced by this story and cast of characters. I must also applaud her for taking the risks with this story that not many authors would be willing to do. Her ability and courage to take her readers out of their comfort zone makes me love this author even more. Now I must admit that I didn't really agree or like some of her choices and directions in the storyline for the characters. For instance, one of my biggest issues with this book would have to be Manning. My impression of him in the first book was that I loved him but also hated him. Since reading the second book, I'm very disappointed and displeased with his behavior and choices in this book. A part of me can't help in feeling hope for Manning and Lake to get their happily ever after. On the other hand, another part of me feels that he should end alone and miserable. At this point, my feelings for him are so conflicted that I hope that he'll be able to redeem himself in the final book. Regardless of my frustration with this book, let me be clear that it still doesn't deter my unwavering love for this story. This series keeps getting better and better with each book. Somebody Else's Sky is an alluring, heartbreaking, and gut wrenching romance that will leave you breathless and begging for more. Overall, I look forward in seeing how this author will wrap up Manning and Lake's epic love saga.

    After meeting Lake and Manning in Something in the Way, I knew their story wasn’t going to be easy. These characters and their struggles were on my mind for weeks after I finished that book. “She still didn’t seek the spotlight, but she was more self-assured than she’d been when we’d met. It was quiet confidence I could sit and watch for minutes at a time without even realizing it, and that was dangerous.” Innocence, forbidden, and unrequited love. That feeling of wanting something so bad, yet it being just out of your grasp? It all adds up to be one of the most captivating, gut-wrenching, heartbreaking stories I’ve read in a long time. Jessica Hawkins’ writing simply amazes me. Her words, and this poignant story she crafted had me in a sobbing mess. Somebody Else’s Sky evoked emotions from me that I’ve CRAVED from a book. “You can’t move the stars. I had tried, and I had failed.” If you’re wanting to experience a story that makes you think and FEEL, then start this beautiful journey by reading Something in the Way.
