Ticket No. "9672" is a fascinating tale of two women who live in a Norway Inn. Dame Hansen is a foolish creature whose mistakes must be dealt with by her daughter Hulda. Coming to their aid is their brother Joel and the remarkable Sylvius Hogg, who helps them all after the young Hansens rescue him from the edge of the Rjukanfos Waterfall.

    This is a great story, but it has a few errors. The editor or translator switches the protagonist name for the antagonist and vice versa.
  • Not quite my favorite book by one of my favorite authors

    As typical of Verne's style, the characters are very likable, though for this book they are relatively one-dimensional. Also as expected from a book about a lottery ticket, it is full of suspense. If you like Verne's other books, I recommend this one too, though it does not deal as much with science fiction.
  • Odd, but lovely

    I can't wait until my son is old enough for me to read this to him! It's got a lot of the adventure, but a love story as well. It's really a lovely story, and as always with jules verne, very beautifully written.
